New York Transit Museum Rebranding

BriefI redesigned the visual identity of the New York Transit Museum, which demonstrates the museum’s historical artifacts of the subway, bus, and commuter rail systems.

InspirationsThe brand system builds upon an all-typefaces visual language which was inspired by the New York subway signages around the 1940s.

Typeface in UseHighway Gothic: A sans-serif typeface developed by the United States Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and used for transportation signage in the Americas.

As a person passes by the poster, the blocky bars will flip down one by one to reveal the contents underneath.

Interactive PostersThroughout its vintage sign visual expression, the brand system is interactive and dynamic as its application also responds to the progressing digitized New York transit system.
